Today, ‘Rolex Explorer’ refer to the original Rolex Explorer dial featuring the 3-6-9-numerals.The origins of the Explorer Dial Submariner date back to the mid-1950s with the reference 6200.
Explorer Dial Subs were also produced in both the reference 5513 and 5512. Most of the Explorer Dials were made for the U.K. market
The present watch was manufactured in 1964 and features the correct ‘Swiss T<25’ dial, which is the transitional period for when Rolex stop using radium and transfer to tritium. The dial itself is a gorgeous black lacquer and the case has retained with its original beveled edges and period bracelet.This beautiful and well preserved example of Explorer Dial ref. 5513 is a fantastic opportunity for collectors.
