The Patek Gondolo model 3578/1 in 18k white gold is a rare and exceptional vintage timepiece that holds an important place in the storied history of Patek Philippe. Introduced in the early 1970s, the Gondolo collection represented Patek’s exploration of more avant-garde and modern case designs, moving beyond their iconic round dress watches.
The 3578/1 was part of this Gondolo series, featuring a distinctive rectangular 30 x 26mm case. This size was quite rare and unusual for the era, when most men’s watches tended to be smaller.
